'Tis the Season for Giving

It's that time of the year. You know what I'm talking about! When the Christmas lights get whipped out, the ugly Christmas sweater parties come out, the preparation for stuffed happy bellies and hibernation. The time of year filled with holiday spirit and the joy of receiving presents... plus my personal favorite, giving presents!

Nothing screams of holiday festivities like Tealee's O Christmas Tea made with white tea, elderberries, and a dash of cinnamon making this the perfect tea for this time of the month. And what better gift to give to your friends and family then a warm cup of holiday joy for Christmas.
There are so many ways to you could package the tea. It could be separated into mason jars as stocking stuffing, it could be the whole Tealee bag itself, or my personal favourite - in a shoebox paired with a bunch of other local goodies!

So I came across this organization called Shoebox Canada Project . They are dedicated to encouraging people to fill a shoe box with presents and essential goods for women in need. I honestly think that is such an amazing project and so I took part in this project and was also inspired to create this blog post about this wonderful initiative!

I think gift boxes with a bunch of goodies inside are so exciting to open as gifts. I incorporated the shoebox idea and DIY'ed a Tealee Gift Box which can work as a little gift guide for any of you that are last minute present shoppers. Decorating the shoebox is the first step and the fun part you can get crafty with. You could wrap it in wrapping paper like I did with mine or you could personally draw on it, put stickers on it, sparkles, you name it. Add some tissue paper at the bottom and you have your set up of your gift box.

Local Goodies You Should Include
Tealee O Christmas Tea
You could put a whole bag in there or if you wanted to do more then one gift box you could divide the tea up into little mason jars with a ribbon over top

Saaboon Camp Fire Candle
A woody wintery scent that reminds me of a warm fireplace

Handcrafted Local Soaps and Body Cream
So many local shops around Ottawa that makes beautiful handmade soap. If you haven't heard about them yet, you should check out Zoe's Corner and Jollification. Or you could even stop by Terra 20 or Herb and Spice for some natural skincare treats.

Mineral based make up
Terra 20 carries a bunch of Canadian made make-up products like highlighter, blush, and lipstick.

Chocolate
You can never go wrong with chocolate. Especially Ottawa's local Hummingbird Chocolate and Alicja Confections chocolate.

A Handwritten Card
My favourite part of gift giving!

Happy Holidays and enjoy this beautiful time of the year with family, friends, and loved ones!
